WNBA Star Invests in Sequel Tampons

Indiana Fever's Aliyah Boston acquires stake in startup

Indiana Fever center Aliyah Boston has acquired a stake in menstrual care company Sequel. The deal marks Boston’s first equity partnership in which she will take an active role with the company, rather than simply serve as a brand ambassador.

Founded by former athletes and Stanford engineering graduates Amanda Calabrese and Greta Meyer, Sequel’s hero Spiral Tampon uses a helical design to improve absorption and reduce leaking. Last year, Sequel was named the first official tampon sponsor for Indiana Fever.

Since its inception, Sequel has secured FDA approval for its tampon and more than $8 million in funding, while building a growing portfolio of professional sports partnerships. In addition to its role as the official tampon partner of the Indiana Fever, Sequel has partnered with Yankee Stadium and Audi Field to supply product.

Rather than investing in traditional retail, Sequel has grown its following via IRL activations and community-first shopping content on TikTok Shop. As a longtime Sequel user, Boston brings an authentic connection to the brand alongside the reach and visibility of a WNBA star with more than 600,000 social media followers.
